Frame Rush is the annual screendance event run by the MA Screendance students. As part of the course, each cohort takes ownership of the Frame Rush. They devise a shared vision, invite film submissions from international artists, and programme and produce a public event.

Call out for films

Frame Rush returns to The Place for its 5th edition this spring. As a cohort, we are interested in exploring the boundaries of movement-focused filmmaking.

Frame Rush welcomes dance films from every part of the globe, in any genre, from documentary, comedy, animation, narrative or experimental. We strive to make the event as inclusive as possible, and actively welcome films from all backgrounds and communities.

Frame Rush also invites non-screendance filmmakers to re-examine their work and discover if dance is already present in their films. We aim to challenge the conceptions of screendance to further expand the field.
