Frame Rush
Frame Rush is an annual festival of screendance works programmed by the MA Screendance students at London Contemporary Dance School. Each year’s cohort presents a distinct public event, informed by their desires and interests, at The Place in London. Welcome!
Call out for films
Frame Rush 2024 welcomes local and international artists to submit movement-focused films that reflect what it means to be present in today’s society.
We aim to elevate and offer a platform to recognise historically marginalised voices both behind and in front of the camera.
If you have previously submitted a film that was not selected, we welcome you to re-enter at a discounted fee.
Films made with a variety of styles, techniques and production budgets will be equally considered. We embrace any work that expands the definition of screendance.
If your financial circumstances prevent you from entering a film that matches the event call, please contact us explaining your circumstances and we can offer a waiver.

What is Screendance
Screendance is an expansive artform, combining elements of dance and filmmaking. It is concerned with movement on screen, in camera, and in edit. It has been called an exploration of space, shape and sound. It may incorporate diverse dance styles and genres, including documentary, comedy, gaming, animation, narrative and the experimental. The focus is not limited to bodily expression and can include movement of any kind.
