Our recorded dance class series gives you the chance to learn at home at your own pace.

Introduction to Contemporary Dance Technique for Adults | £40

This six-session series led by professional teacher Megan Griffiths, will introduce you to the fundamental principles of Contemporary Dance.

Joined by live musician Julie Bruce and demonstrator Blue Makwana, Megan will lead you through back work, foot exercises, swing exercises, floor work and longer phrases built across the six sessions.

Each session is approximately 30 minutes long and they have been designed with small spaces in mind, making them ideal for use at home.

Introduction to Ballet Technique for Adults | £40

This six-session series led by professional teacher Michelle Ballentyne, will introduce you to the fundamental principles of Ballet.

Joined by live musician Nicholas Hewlett and demonstrator Blue Makwana, Michelle will explain important Ballet terms and help you discover your core stability, flexibility, posture, and alignment - and not to mention the joy of dancing!

Each session is approximately 30 minutes long and they have been designed with small spaces in mind, making them ideal for use at home.

Introduction to Bharatanatyam with Akademi for Adults | £40

This six-session series led by professional teacher Kamala Devam from Akademi will introduce you to the fundamental principles of Bharatanatyam. Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest classical dance forms, originating in the temples of Tamil Nadu in South India. Encompassing theatre, dance and music, Bharatanatyam dance movements convey stories through expressive hand gestures and facial expressions.

Joined by live musician Swati Seshadri and demonstrator Aishani Gosh, Kamala will lead you through the basic steps or adavus as well as short phrases, built across the six sessions.

Each session is approximately 40 minutes long and they have been designed with small spaces in mind, making them ideal for use at home.

Introduction to Contemporary Dance with Candoco Dance Company for disabled and non-disabled participants | £40

This six-session series led by professional teachers from Candoco Dance Company will introduce you to the fundamental principles of Contemporary Dance through creative tasks and explorations.

The series is designed for disabled and non-disabled participants.

Each session is approximately 20-30 minutes long and they have been designed with small spaces in mind, making them ideal for use at home. Captions are available for each session.

Dancing all over The Place for children aged 6-10 years | £40

In each episode young people will be transported from their homes through movement and imagination, and will discover different dance adventures as they travel to new places on planet Earth; from the highest points of the mountains to the deepest depths of the sea, and everywhere in between!

Guided by Corine and Ryan - our fantastic dance artists, children will be encouraged to find creative ways to move and respond to the world around them.

Age Recommendation: The series is designed with small spaces in mind, making them ideal for use at home. It is aimed at young people aged 6 - 10 years old (school years 2 - 5) but can be enjoyed by younger and older siblings too.

What Do You Get?

  • You can watch the episodes at your leisure as many times as you like, pausing and rewinding to repeat any tasks or spend more time exploring if you wish!
  • The series also comes complete with a Resource Pack full of optional craft activities to prepare you for your travels throughout the episodes.
INFORMATION:
  • Each series consists of six sessions led by professional teachers.
  • Each session in the adult courses is approximately 30 minutes long.
  • Each session in the children's course is approximately 20 minutes long.
  • The adult courses feature live musicians and a demonstrator, the teachers will lead you through a variety of exercises, explain dance terms and teach you longer phrases built across the six sessions.
  • The children's course is led by two alternating teachers, who will encourage youngsters to use their imagination and explore creative movement.
  • The recorded series have been designed with small spaces in mind, making them ideal for use at home.
  • As the series are recorded you will be able to pause, rewind, re-watch as many times as you like to complete the exercises, moving through the sessions at your own pace and in your own time.
