Zhou Zhou
Zhou Zhou is a media artist and director, interested in developing new forms of performance art through human-machine co-creation, using signal processing, machine learning, and embodied practice. His works have been showcased internationally, earning awards including the MA/IN Award, AAIA Award, and frame:work New Talent ’24 Award. Zhou’s research investigates real-time collaboration between generative audio AI and human performers in dance, addressing agency, ethics, and embodied interaction. He views cognition as a computational process extending beyond symbolic representation and sees technology as an intrinsic part of our sensory and physical experience, continually reshaping human perception. Collaborating across disciplines, Zhou works with artists and designers to explore how technology mediates creative expression and improvisation in performance.
