Taya Jones

Taya is a trained dancer and contemporary performance artist based in London. Completing her BA with First Class honours at University of East London, her dance practice is rooted in Hip Hop, Commercial, Contemporary, House and Popping. She has performed in various youth companies and festivals, including Fresh at The Place.
Taya completed her Contemporary Performance Master's degree at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2023. Working with various multidisciplinary artists from across the world, diversifying her knowledge and creative practice, developing installation, choreographic and durational works for theatre and site-specific spaces. In collaboration with two other artists, Taya curated, installed, and displayed her MA final performance work Terror Nova, partnered with the Goldsmiths Textile Collection, at the Constance Howard Gallery between Oct-Nov 2023.
Through her Outreach and Partnership Internship with UEL and The Capsule Podcast, she gained experience in podcast production and artist management - curating and co-hosting her own episode highlighting the discourse between dance focused academia and in studio practical movement.
Taya also has a strong interest in technical theatre, lighting and performance production. Training in lighting and sound throughout her degrees and various workshops, as well as supporting the R&D process of SAY's The Album, working as a technical assistant with Omari Carter.
