Molly Ann Pendlebury
Molly makes images using a multidisciplinary approach. Her background in illustration has informed her visual way of conceptualising and researching; not circumscribing to a particular medium she enjoys exploring outcomes in a variety of forms whilst always paying close attention to chiaroscuro.
Whilst studying at Brighton University, Molly’s interest in movement developed as she began experimenting with moving image and sound, leading her to enrol at London Contemporary Dance School to study for her MA in Screendance where she choreographs movement for camera.
Her work draws from the quotidian; subverting the mundanity of daily life, playing with the boundaries of reality and surreality, and questioning definitions of performance. She is interested in spaces, places and their inhabitants and currently lives and works in South East London.
She is a filmmaker at Royal Opera House.
