Maya Kell-Abrams is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work bridges performance and community organizing. Drawing on her training in Tae Kwon Do and Streetstyle/Social Dances, she makes work that is multidisciplinary and collaborative. She has directed dance film festivals, collaborated on a Library of Congress archive honoring House culture, and premiered large-scale video installations on the Salesforce Tower and a West Hollywood billboard. She holds BAs in World Arts & Culture/Dance and Gender Studies from UCLA and plans to use the MA to develop tools to facilitate play and co-creation with her communities.
