Mak Korda is a movement artist and creative who finds enjoyment through high energy use of the body. Currently his practice searches to find play between hyper relaxation and extreme tension. He values intense but open work spaces and believes that finding this balance in creative environments holds one of the many keys to create meaningful movement that nourishes the soul. Often his playful personality acts as a driving force in both choreographic and improvisational senses.

Mak is a graduate of the MA Dance: Performance programme at LCDS, where he was a member of the inaugural Cohort 01. During the programme he worked with project leaders such as Theo Clinkard, Jenna Jalonen, Hannes Langolf, Paleta, Benjamin Jonsson, AE Company (Aoi Nakamura & Esteban Lecoq), Edivaldo Ernesto, Horacio Macuacua, Jozef Frucek and Alexandra Reynolds, under the course leadership of Tom English, Tina Afiyan Breiova and Dr Andrew Sanger and working closely with individual mentor Sam Coren.

The course has acted as a key bridging point between student and professional life allowing for me to both analyse my own relationship with movement and the industry as well as to interpret how other artists can relate to my body and mind. These teachings have been enhanced through our independent unit, giving me space to utilize our learnings in the field.
