“Kymara’s sound can only be described as smooth and subdued bluesy neo-soul that lyrically hinges on human interconnection. Often drawing from life experiences, the Netherlands-born, Brighton-based vocalist has spent her recent years building the foundations for a musical repository that exponentially explores what it means to be truly free." – Clash Music

Kymara’s music is a beautiful combination of Nina Simone’s storytelling, the soul of D'Angelo and Janis Joplin’s purity and rawness, sprinkled with her own vibrant personality and signature charismatic wit. Her talent for song writing and accomplished vocal performances take listeners on a personal journey through the ups and downs of love, lust, life, and tragedy. She has been featured on BBC Music Introducing and BBC Radio 1, and by NPO Soul & Jazz in the Netherlands. For her work with the MA Dance: Performance cohort, she was joined by long-term collaborator, co-writer and bandmember guitarist Louis Bell.
