Emily Bealer

Emily began dancing at the age of five, training across a range of genres including ballet, contemporary, jazz, commercial, and tap at Baltimore Ballet and EMC Performing Arts Studio. At thirteen, she began more intensive training in ballet and contemporary at the Dance Conservatory of Maryland, where she danced numerous soloist roles as a member of their studio company, Ballet Chesapeake, and represented the school at the finals of the Youth America Grand Prix. During this time, she was invited to the Kennedy Center Masterclass Series in Washington, D.C., and awarded scholarships to attend the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Summer Intensives in 2018 and 2019.
At sixteen, Emily relocated to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to train under the direction of Susan Jaffe and Jared Redick. There, she expanded her training across a range of classical and contemporary techniques, including Graham, Cunningham, Horton, and Balanchine, which continue to shape her approach as both a dancer and teacher. She graduated with a concentration in classical ballet in 2021.
Emily first began teaching virtually during the Covid-19 pandemic while still a conservatory student and has continued to teach and choreograph ever since. Following her professional training in dance, she earned a degree in International Relations & International Law from the University of Edinburgh and is now pursuing postgraduate legal studies in London. She teaches with the goal of cultivating technical precision, artistry, and confidence in her students, while above all nurturing a lasting love of dance.
