Ellyn Hebron

Ellyn’s dance journey began on Dance City’s CAT scheme in Newcastle, where she trained from 2006 to 2010. That experience played a formative role in shaping her love of dance and her belief in the power of supportive, high-quality training for young dancers, making her work with The Place CAT feel like a special full-circle moment.
Ellyn went on to study at London Contemporary Dance School, completing both a BA and an MA in Contemporary Dance in 2014 and began her professional performing career at Glyndebourne in 2015. She went on to perform internationally, returning to perform in numerous productions at the Royal Opera House.
Since 2020 she has built a strong teaching practice, leading classes and workshops at organisations including The Place, Rambert and Laban, as well as running retreats across the UK and abroad, as part of her own business. Her teaching is rooted in contemporary technique, with influences from Cunningham, Release and floor work, and is driven by curiosity, care and precision.
Ellyn is delighted to be supporting the next generation of dancers at The Place CAT, inspired by the training that once helped her find her own way into the profession.
