Andrea Olivares

Andrea Olivares is a Chilean/British dance and screendance artist, teacher and art producer, based in Chile since 2024.
In her work she crosses the limits from her disciplines to others, such as visual arts and live installations, stating that: “as a child born in exile, I belong to the frontiers that have been built to cross them.”
Currently she is leading courses of Danzaudiovisual (dance-audiovisual) and Choreography at the University UAHC for Dance and Cinema students. In 2025 she assumed the presidency of Anilina Colectivo, an independent dance collective (2009-2025) that develops projects around dance, public spaces and communities, topics that she developed and deepened in her academic research.
The MA Screendance was a nurturing experience that gave me knowledge, skills and all the freedom to develop my ideas. I’m very grateful to receive and share artistic and critical perspectives of artists from different parts of the world like Canada, China, Germany, Brazil among others; my most valued chapter as a foreign artist in the UK.
