ADRIENNE HART
Artistic Director / CEO of Neon Dance
Adrienne works internationally as a choreographer and as Artistic Director / CEO of Neon Dance. Since graduating from London Contemporary Dance School, she has worked in Belgium, Norway, Germany, Kosovo, Russia, Japan, USA, and extensively in the UK.
Adrienne’s work has been commissioned and supported by Arts Council England, British Council, Creative England, Sadler's Wells, The Place, Modern Art Oxford, Glastonbury Festival, Reversible Destiny Foundation, The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, South West Creative Technology Network, Pavilion Dance South West and Art Front Gallery amongst others. Her commissions include working with Sadler's Wells resident over 60's performance group Company of Elders, 2018 work 'Puzzle Creature' which was invited to premiere as part of Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial and 2022 work 'Beyond Body & Things' which invited to premiere at Setouchi Art Triennale (Japan).
Adrienne is the artistic director and CEO of Neon Dance, which became a charity in 2022. Their latest work, a contemporary dance adaptation of the 1930's sci-fi novel Last and First Men previewed at the Science Museum on the 4th May and features original music by the late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Neon Dance premiered at Berlin's Volksbühne as part of CTM Festival on the 2nd February 2024 and went onto present the work at Festival of Tomorrow and Rewire Festival.
Adrienne is also collaborating with Bristol Robotics Lab, University of Bristol and Air Giants on the new research project 'Wearable Robots for Enhancing Embodied Communication' and part of the Oxford Cultural Leaders (OCL) faculty; an acclaimed cultural leadership programme.
