The Place would like to thank Dr Chris Rowland, outgoing chair of both the Finance and General Purposes and Remuneration Committees, for 9 years of service on our Board of Governors. Chris supported our institution with his vast experience in the financial services industry, particularly in the banking, capital markets and broking sectors, and his enthusiastic support for the arts, particularly music, theatre and dance.

Over the last nine years of service, we have really valued his support and cheerful presence at board and committee meetings, and we wish Chris all the best for the future and his retirement.

We would like to take this moment to welcome Governor Lisa Baglin to our Board, who will be taking over as chair of both the Finance and General Purposes and Remuneration Committees.

Lisa has over 20 years’ experience working in multi-channel retail brands in finance and operational roles. Her initial career was in finance in Coopers & Lybrand, Exxon and then ten years with Tesco plc in divisional finance director roles before broadening into COO and MD roles in a growing beauty brand and as Managing Director of Cass Art. Lisa has lived in London all her life and has always been an avid theatre-goer.

She has a Modern History degree from Oxford University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. She is a trustee of an educational charity, Number Champions which supports numeracy in London primary schools.
