THE HOUSE OF PANTHA | CABARET LAB
ARTIST DEVELOPMENT: ARTIST LED LABS
The Place is delighted to launch the first in the series of Artist Led Labs. These labs intend to support artists to share their research and skills, as well as delving into their own practice and movement styles. This series, made up of workshops, intensives, networking events and seminars invites artists at any experience level to get involved. The labs are free to attend and we have bursary places available.
Cleopantha and The Place are happy to announce the launch of The House of Pantha | Cabaret Lab.
Join Cleopantha (Worlds Number 3 Most Influential Burlesque Figure) for a 4-day lab, with support from some of the UKs most prestigious and well-known cabaret professionals. The course will be designed to support new and upcoming drag, burlesque and circus talent, as well as those interested in the techniques and movement styles cabaret has to offer. House of Pantha aims to elevate artists by giving them the necessary tools to navigate the industry.
If you're a cabaret artist fresh on the scene, or interested in a career in cabaret, then this is the course for you. You can apply via The Place website. We welcome applications from Global Majority, LGBTQIA+, and d/Deaf and disabled artists.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The sessions will run from 18:00 - 21:00 in the evenings between 10 July - 13 July 2023. The labs are free to attend, but you must be available for all the sessions.

*Strip Hop looks at the art of tease and basic dance technique to a customised hip hop and rap music playlist. Though this is a session focusing on the art of tease, no nudity will be required. Please note: Glove peel exercises maybe incorporated in the workshop. Gloves will be provided for this.
ABOUT CLEOPANTHA
Voted Number 1 most influential burlesque figure twice in the UK, and currently ranked number 3 most influential burlesque artist in the world, Cleopantha has taken the international burlesque scene by storm. She is renowned for pushing the boundaries of burlesque, fusing her high energy dance style with both humour and the art of tease.
Having recently worked for the infamous Cardi B, performing at the rapper's 30th birthday party in Los Angeles, Cleopantha is redefining what the majority believe burlesque to be. Her acts are in dedication to her love of music and culture and she is inspired by those who have been an important influence in her life. She is a London based artist but a proud northerner at heart, having been born and raised in the city of Manchester, UK.
Cleopantha trained professionally at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance before stepping into the glorious world of burlesque. Her burlesque accolades include Hebden Bridge Burlesque Festival (UK), Bristol Burlesque Festival (UK), Stuttgart Burlesque Festival (Germany) and Manchester Burlesque Festival (UK).
