Job Description

Disability Arts Online and Cathy Waller Company are collaborating on project Decode, a vital service that empowers disabled creatives to navigate through the Access To Work application process.

Decode, currently in its pilot phase, helps people to access equipment and support, enabling disabled people to start/continue/progress in their careers in the creative industries.

We are seeking enthusiastic, empathetic freelancers who are passionate about standing up for disabled people’s rights, by supporting individuals applying to Access to Work (ATW). As a Support Team Member, you will;

  • Learn how ATW works and how it supports people in the Arts and Cultural Sector
  • Work one to one with creatives, breaking down ATW information in more accessible and sector focused ways.
  • Correspond and negotiate with Access to Work Staff
  • Support creatives to fill in forms and budget their support

We are looking for 2 freelancers to join Decode in June 2023, to work with our existing team in order to meet demand and growth within the service.

These 2 Support Team Member roles will be:

  • Part time
  • Freelance (you will be self employed)
  • Paid at £25 per hour
  • Average of 6-8 hours per week (with an option to extend these hours)
  • Supported by 20 hours of training, paid at £15 per hour

As this is a new service, we are inviting you to join us for a 90 minute Zoom session on Thursday 4th May at 11am to find out more about Decode, the roles and how to apply. This is not a job interview, but a relaxed information session so we can give you more details about the work and you can ask us questions.

To book your place, please visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e...

Applications for the roles will not open until after the information session on the 4th May. This listing will then be updated with all the information you will need to apply.

Access

The session will be captioned, and the session leaders will verbally describe any slides and images. If you need a BSL interpreter or other support to access this session, please email: admin@disabilityarts.online
