Job Description

Choreographer Akshay Sharma is seeking contemporary dancers for a series of performance and research projects taking place between June 2026 – November 2027. The aim of the audition is to connect with dancers and create a pool of collaborators who resonate with the work and practice.

Akshay is interested in dancers who are curious, collaborative and invested in both physical rigour and emotional depth. The rehearsal process will involve structured improvisation, devising and repertoire approaches to making. In the rehearsal process Akshay encourages play and physical research with the ideas alongside discipline, rigour and a positive attitude in the studio.

Akshay is interested in exploring the emotive qualities of movement and see the work as one of many expressions of our lived realities; sometimes chaotic, unfulfilling, desperate but always beautiful.
