Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to assist in the planning and delivery of a programme of recreational dance for young people at The Place, creative powerhouse for dance development, leading the way in training, performance and creation.

The Classes and Courses Programme reaches thousands of adults and young people from age 2+ each year, providing opportunity for anyone with all levels of experience to engage in a vibrant and welcoming programme of dance of many different styles. This post will work closely with, and deputise for, the Classes and Courses Programme Manager to continue building our programme, ensuring we provide the opportunity for all to access high quality dance.

Focusing on the youth dance programme, you will liaise with internal and external colleagues to develop a dynamic schedule of classes, activities and performance platforms for young people. Working with the Programme Manager to ensure the programme fulfils its maximum potential in terms of income targets, customer satisfaction and The Place’s artistic and educational objectives.

As part of a busy team, this role will offer challenges overseeing an extensive network of highly experienced teachers, guest artists, choreographers and dance companies. You will also be responsible for leading on Safeguarding for the Classes and Courses youth and adult programmes.

Please note this post requires the ability to work each Saturday and a minimum of two evenings per week during term time based on the needs of the programme (and other late evenings or weekend days as needed).
