About RES27: From the front to the back and round again (tools for making) with Christopher Matthews

"From the front to the back and around again. 100%"

This workshop starts right at the beginning - because that's often the best place to begin.
Together, we'll explore how to analyse your concepts, research, references, and methodologies to develop a clear and distinctive movement vocabulary. Through a series of practical micro-tasks, you'll be guided step by step in shaping and defining your creative concept.

Whether you're just starting out or already deep into the process, these tools can become a framework you return to again and again - to generate new material, test and refine existing ideas, or prepare your work for production.

Working across dance, theatre, and visual art, we'll experiment with cross-disciplinary methodologies that encourage you to dig deeper into both your creative process and your movement language. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a stronger foundation, a clearer artistic direction, and a movement vocabulary that feels ready to come alive on stage.
