About RES 26: How to Work

Gillie Kleiman is an experienced artist and cultural worker who sometimes feels she doesn't know what she's doing.

Over twenty years or so, she has developed strategies to shape her time and energy as well as tactics to shift things in stuck moments, whether that's confusion about what to do next in a creative process or how to decide which things to apply for.

This workshop will guide you through a series of exercises to explore your approach to work, find blindspots where it's impossible to know if you're working or messing about, and come up and share ideas for things to try to make work more joyful and fruitful, including in the project you're developing for Resolution.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Gillie Kleiman works with and in dance and choreography, creating performances, texts, events and pedagogical encounters.

Gillie’s work has a persistent interest in both the figure and the activity of the non-professional, and many of the projects have involved participation of non-professional collaborators or of the audience. In 2020, Gillie initiated a new cycle of thinking and working about fat and fatness.

Gillie has degrees in dance and performance, including a PhD in Dance Studies.
