Critical Moment

Now in its second year Critical Moment returns to the London stage with works by nine older choreographers (60+). Each examines how we may act, hesitate or agitate in the face of personal and societal critical moments.

Joining Function of X and Grand Gesture are: Kim Mendez and Jennifer Jackson with Sage Dance Company; Ann Clifford with Counterpoint Dancers and The Pandemonium Ensemble; Caroline Muraldo; Sarah Jackson with Quercum; Mary Cox.

This mixed bill includes works which are questioning, playful, joyful, and reflective.

The choreographers, from varied backgrounds - ballet, contemporary, African Caribbean and dance theatre - deal with themes of resilience and regrowth, sacrifice, friendship, cultural assumptions, and violence against women.
