The Place’s annual showcase of dance created and curated with young people for the young at heart. This vibrant evening presents a mixed bill of bite-sized performances as professional and youth companies share our stage for the night.

The audience experience is raucous and electric, as budding dance enthusiasts rub shoulders with professionals.

FRESH is our annual, electrifying showcase of dance created and curated by young people, for the young at heart. This vibrant, high-energy evening features a diverse, captivating mixed bill of bite-sized performances as both youth and professional dance companies share our stage for the night.

This year, The Place is seeking 3 exceptional youth dance companies to join FRESH. Could this be you?

We are looking for talented, passionate companies with bold ideas to perform in a mixed bill celebrating the remarkable diversity and extraordinary talent of Youth Dance Companies.

When: Saturday 21 November, 7.30pm

Where: The Place Theatre, London


If you would like to be part of this showcase, please apply hereby Friday 25 September. We will let you know the outcome of your application by Friday 9 October.

Criteria to apply

Before you do, please see the criteria below to make sure this opportunity is right for you:

  • Dancers must be between 14 and 19 years (or up to 24 if there is SEND).
  • Pieces must be between 5 – 10 minutes long.
  • The Company is based in London or at a commutable distance as we are unable to offer help with travel and/or accommodation.
  • The Company will need to be available ALL DAY from 10am on Saturday 22 November, for tech sessions, dress and performance. The performance is at 7.30pm.
  • Preferably The Company will need a Licensed Chaperone, or if not have an appropriate number of adults to Youth Company members with up to date DBS checks.
  • The Company will be expected to promote the performance to their networks.
