Ola Derecka
Originally from Poland, Ola trained across Europe, the United States, and the UK. With a foundation and passion in ballet, she also found herself in narrative works within contemporary dance world, wanting to tell stories and share emotions through her work. Ola also has a passion for teaching, sharing her expertise with students and providing them with space to grow. She teaches ballet and contemporary dance to children, teenagers and adults in both the UK and Poland. She also incorporates improvisation into her practice and is prioritises a welcoming space for people who want to start their journey with self-expression in a kind, supporting and safe environment.
Ola is is a graduate of the MA Dance: Performance programme at LCDS, where she was a member of the inaugural Cohort 01. During the programme she worked with project leaders such as Theo Clinkard, Jenna Jalonen, Hannes Langolf, Paleta, Benjamin Jonsson, AE Company (Aoi Nakamura & Esteban Lecoq), Edivaldo Ernesto, Horacio Macuacua, Jozef Frucek and Alexandra Reynolds under the course leadership of Tom English, Tina Afiyan Breiova and Dr Andrew Sanger and working closely with individual mentor Jenny Hayes.
