Lola is a choreographer, researcher, lecturer and mentor working across higher education and professional practice in the UK and internationally. Her teaching brings together contemporary dance practice with critical and creative pedagogies that foster curiosity, collaboration and independent thinking.

She has been a visiting lecturer at LCDS since 2013 and has taught at institutions including the National Centre for Dance (CND Lyon), INSPE Lyon, Centre de Formation Désoblique, Birkbeck University of London and the National Centre for Circus Arts.

Lola completed a PhD in 2026, exploring choreography, somatics, practices of attention and practice-based research. Her work connects dance with ecology, visual arts, popular education and everyday life. She is currently contributing a chapter, Speculation as a Method to Unlearn, to the forthcoming publication Activating Unlearning Through Dance. She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Dance and Somatic Practices.

Alongside her academic work, Lola has extensive experience supporting artists and creative development. She founded and curated Cellules d’Essai in Lyon (2017–2022), served on the steering committee for emerging choreographer support initiatives at Le Croiseur / Scène découverte danse (2018–2021) and was a mentor for the Manchester Jazz Festival Hothouse Talent Development Programme (2024).

She continues to develop choreographic projects, most recently Is this a Dance? (2022), a performance and workshop project for children co-created with Eva Recacha, which invites young audiences to question what dance is and who gets to define it.
