Bronwen Wilson Rashad
Bronwen Wilson Rashad is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Forest of Dean, UK. Having grown up outside the UK, Bronwen's practice reflects her interests in belonging, place and folk culture. For the last three years she has led a dance project with NHS Wales Perinatal Mental Health Team. Drawing on developmental movement and her background in mental health, she creates spaces for parents and their babies to meet through movement. She is also a member of the queer folk dance group “Molly No Mates”. Bronwen is hoping to investigate how we co-create new folk traditions that make space for us all on the dance floor.
Being in a room with a truly global cohort has been transformational. Sharing practice and challenges across such a wide spectrum of contexts has led to a deeper understanding of my own work, and a desire to work collaboratively in this decentralised way.
