Anna Helsby
After graduating in 1994 from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Anna performed as a soloist with the ballet company of Theater St Gallen in Switzerland and choreographed for the company's Dancer for Dancer programme. After leaving the company she worked as a freelance artist in various contemporary companies in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, as well as musicals such as West Side Story, Fame, Miss Saigon and Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2008 she gained a BA (Hons) in Humanities with History from the Open University and also gained her Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance. Before teaching for LCDS, Anna was The Place’s Classes and Courses manager and Acting Director of Recreational and Prevocational Dance. She is a certified as a teacher of Zena Rommett's Floor-Barre® technique and in 2019 completed her MA in Professional Practice - Dance Teaching Pedagogy. Since September 2019 she is Head of Registry and Student Well-Being.
