Ana is a vibrant performer, dancer, and adaptable movement artist from Brighton, UK. Her practice consists of improvisation in depth and connection of music and movement, physical theatre and (re)finding the humanness of moving - often using rhythm and isolation as a tool for creation- frequently swinging between somatic and physically and emotionally expressive practice.

Her interests have resulted in deep research to create work around the notions of punk performances and ways in which this elicits intimacy; how 'punk', through an anarcha-feminist lens, can be defined amongst today’s societal standards. Ana’s work mirrors a montage of performance art, referencing a timeline of generational music and radical political progression. Whilst deciphering her creative identity, she re- discovered herself as multidisciplinary artist who is inspired by perspective relationships between movement, music, poetry, fine art, and film.

Ana is a graduate of the MA Dance: Performance programme at LCDS, where she was a member of the inaugural Cohort 01. During the programme she worked with project leaders such as Theo Clinkard, Jenna Jalonen, Hannes Langolf, Paleta, Benjamin Jonsson, AE Company (Aoi Nakamura & Esteban Lecoq), Edivaldo Ernesto, Horacio Macuacua, Jozef Frucek and Alexandra Reynolds under the course leadership of Tom English, Tina Afiyan Breiova and Dr Andrew Sanger and working closely with individual mentor Sarah Wookey.

The year has changed how I approach movement, and massively widened my movement vocabulary. I used to think there were limitations, and that the body has a capacity.  But now I am curious and have so much more to learn
