Job Description

Balbir Singh Dance Company (BSDC) is recruiting dancers specializing in Contemporary or Classical Indian dance for its Resilient Dancer Programme. This unique opportunity runs from October 2024 to March 2025, spanning 10 weekends (20 days total) with possible additional performance opportunities.

Participants will explore Balbir Singh's interdisciplinary approach across BSDC's key projects:
- Celebrating Age
- Sport & Art
- Classical Revisited
- An Appetite for Dance.

The programme includes creative health and wellbeing projects: Unmasking Pain, NHS Cancer Alliance projects, and environmental connections.

Dancers will also be involved in development of existing and new BSDC repertoire:
- Ramayana
- Captured
- Indian Biscuits, Tea and Cricket
- Outer Performances

The programme emphasizes person-centred care, mental health, and trauma-informed practice training.
