Ananta by Adhya Shastry

Ananta (Sanskrit for timeless or endless) is a dance-theatre work inhabiting the fragile, disorienting state of grief – the space between knowing someone is gone and still feeling them everywhere.

Through movement, sound, and evocative imagery, the work moves through memories held in the body: the warmth of a hand, a familiar face, a voice that lingers long after it has fallen silent. Moments of tenderness give way to longing, absence, and the ache of returning again and again to what can no longer be held.

Ananta explores grief not as something to overcome, but as a way of living with love after loss.

About Adhya Shastry

Adhya Shastry is a Bharatanatyam and contemporary dancer, choreographer and multidisciplinary artist whose practice sits between inherited tradition and contemporary expression. Their work is shaped by an ongoing curiosity about how stories evolve through the body, drawing from mythology, Sanskrit poetry, cultural memory and personal experience. Moving between classical form, contemporary movement and somatic improvisation, Adhya explores the body as a space where different histories, identities and ways of seeing can meet. Winner of BBC Young Dancer 2022, they have worked with leading artists across Bharatanatyam and contemporary dance, performing nationally and internationally. Their work has been presented at St James’s Palace, the Royal Opera House and the High Commission of India. Their choreographic debut, Komal, premiered at The Place, London.

Praying for a Car Park (& Other Miracles) by Bella Gaynor

In Praying for a car park (& other miracles), Bella Gaynor embarks on a jolly little pilgrimage to revisit her time at a convent school; everything it did, and didn’t, teach her.

Helped along the way by fellow convent girls, disciples and the church choir, the work reflects on the absurd side of a religious upbringing. What do we loyally believe as children and what do we still want to believe as adults? What guilt does this bring? And does muttering ‘thank god’ when the bus comes on time count as daily prayer?

About Bella Gaynor

Bella is a London-based dance artist who graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2025. Her practice currently explores improvisation and the use of text and comedy in dance, in order to examine her own life experiences. During her training she worked with artists Léa Tirabasso and Sung Im Her who taught her how to approach dance creation in a light-hearted and caring way, and Lewys Holt and Becky Namgauds, who have influenced her expressive and versatile movement vocabulary. Since training, Bella has worked with Dance Umbrella festival in London as their festival assistant, performed at Resolution (The Place) as part of Company 6th, assisted children’s creative classes, and continued her training independently.

The Unburned by Lillian Schroeder

The Unburned is a contemporary dance theatre show about desire: what we long for and how it consumes us. Inspired by witchcraft and old religious stories, the show creates a space for people who have been feared, rejected or misunderstood.

Through movement and sound, the work explores the things we chase, the things we cannot let go of, and the desire to belong. It asks why satisfaction can always feel just out of reach, and whether coming together can help break the cycle of wanting.

About Lillian Schroeder

Lillian Schroeder is a London-based dancer and choreographer from San Francisco. An alumna of London Contemporary Dance School and Rambert School, her practice shifts between different movement styles, with a focus on improvisation and movement as communication. Lillian has performed internationally across stage, film, opera and commercial contexts, including at the Royal Opera House, The Place, V&A Museum, Hanes Theater and Stevens Center, performing works by Ming-Lung Yang, Faye Tan, Trisha Brown Company, Thick and Tight, Jacob Jonas and Adrian Look. Her choreographic work explores ostracisation and belonging through a political lens. Her latest work,The Coven of Desire, premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2026.
