About Resolution: Hayleigh Sellors and Lea Orož

At the Hands of You by Hayleigh Sellors

At The Hands Of You is a raw and honest solo, exploring motherhood and matrescence. A woman finds herself uprooted and at the edge of herself, trying to find her way through a dark forest.

Physical and intense, the work draws on Popping, Krump, Waacking and Contemporary dance to explore the contradictions of motherhood: the desperation to hold on, the fear of losing everything, the unspoken grief, and a heart full of love.

“You’re the ground that brings me to my knees; the ground you walk on I adore. You’re my weakness and the strength that I need. The build-up, the break-down, my vulnerability, you are the tune I hum” - Jessica Ulrich

The Monster Lady by Lea Orož

The Monster Lady is exhausted by conventional beauty. She searches instead for harmony in what society perceives as opposites, and strives to inhabit both of her worlds at once. The grotesque becomes sublime. The sexual becomes pure. Flesh and metal blur together. Fear and fascination with paradox continue to intertwine.

In this performance, contemporary dancer Lea Orož interacts with an installation created by artist Evangeline Armstrong.
