Golden Leaves

The soft steam of peach blossom tea swirls in the air.

Golden Leaves is a meditative dance duet combining nature-inspired floorwork with elements of butoh to contemplate on Summer’s vitality within Winter’s solitude. Immersed in a soundscape of rustling canopies, this piece offers space to encounter the glowing underside of a leaf, inviting you to lean in and wonder or lean back and ponder.

This is a performance for those seeking stillness in the busyness and warmth within Winter.

About Eira Dance Theatre

Eira Dance Theatre (formerly The Motion Pack) is a UK-based ambient dance company, creating meditative encounters that inspire stillness in the busyness. Through interdisciplinary arts, our work unfolds like the slow drip of coffee, offering time to dive into the imagination and inspire harmony in a society rife with social and ecological dissonance.

Jane

Jane is a solo contemporary flamenco dance work which explores the wild inner life of an introvert, of quiet rebellion against the norm, and questions the boundaries that social expectation and routine place on our existence. Originally inspired by the figure of the madwoman in the attic in the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë - this piece explores our relationship with altitude and isolation.

Jane
is a collaboration with composer and cellist Colin Alexander.
