About Divija Melally & Saili Katebe, Casper Dillen & Small Sample Size Theatre and Shiyu Lu & Haonan Ma

The performers are pointing to themselves, with one of them looking forward to the audience, and the other turned diagonally looking down.

Six Degrees from Home

The show is an interdisciplinary exploration of borders and connection. In a world where we are many things at the same time, how do we say the things we want to say but cannot? What valuable information is lost in translation when language and our bodies are telling different stories? Different genders, cultures, and artistic practices exploring connection in a home away from home.

About Divija Melally & Saili Katebe

Divija and Saili are an inter-disciplinary duo working with text, poetry and movement to explore common themes of interest and curiosity. They are keen to explore the ways in which movement and language in their various forms can come together to facilitate a creative outlet for the stories that we carry. They are interested in human experiences, interactions, and all the different ways in which “being human” manifests in the world.

Mouth Wash and Razor Blades

When the world was still ending, many things were possible.

The apocalypse is pending. One dancer decides to dance themselves to death. No one asked them to do it. Some would prefer they stop.

Empty But Solid

"From throat to heart; From quarrel to silence; From indifferent desires to warm hearts. Who is it that watches people under the roof?"

The work gives insight into the shackles of formalism within an East Asian family where the intimate relationships are woven into one big net, and every member who tries to change is controlled, criticized, and doubted by the invisible threads. And all the emotions will eventually dissolve into silence and be digested by a complex love.

You will witness the struggle, and pain but also the warmth of emotion, this pain is not licentious, it will eventually disappear because of blood and love.
