About Contemporary Beginners with James Muller

Classes start on Tues 17th Sep 2024 and run until Tues 3rd December 2024 (excluding Tues 29th Oct due to half term)

Work with increased physicality and develop a more dynamic approach to movement.

This class is designed to build upon the foundations of our introduction course, allowing you to expand your skills and explore the art of contemporary dance even further.

Our progressive approach is influenced by the techniques of Cunningham and release-based Contemporary styles. Cunningham technique emphasises the movement of the spine through curves, tilts, twists, and arches. Incorporation of Release technique encourages flowing movements that focus on breath.

Dance artist, James Muller will guide you through the class, helping you develop your skills and technique, accompanied by accomplished drummer Oliver Davies. You will have the chance to explore your own styles and movement approach through a choreographed phrase taught in class.
