About Ballet Beginners with Julian Lewis

Classes start on Mon 16th September 2024 and run until Mon 2nd December 2024 (excluding Mon 28th October due to half term)

Refine, develop, and challenge your ballet skills in a supportive and fun environment.

This class will help you gain a deeper understanding of ballet technique, movement and vocabulary – the perfect next step for anyone who has completed the introduction course or has 6 months to one year movement experience.

From barre to pirouettes, you will be carefully guided through each step by our experienced dance artist, Julian Lewis to an accompaniment of beautiful live music by pianist Anna Gillespie. Building confidence with each class, you will leave with an accomplished understanding of the musicality, artistry and technique of ballet, ready to progress into our intermediate classes.

  • Enrol for the term for £160.00 to save and guarantee your place or drop-in for £16.00 per class (concessions available)

  • Please arrive on time - unfortunately, we cannot accommodate participants over 15 minutes late, as the warm-up is an important part of the class.

  • Over the summer months we’ve been working to upgrade our toilets, changing rooms and the café space. While much of the refurbishment is now complete, some ongoing works may affect the facilities available to you to use during the first few weeks of term. Upon arrival to your class, the team at Reception will signpost you to the nearest available facilities. Thank you for your patience and support as we complete this work. about the teacher

Julian graduated from Trinity Laban in 2013 and has since performed across the UK & Europe with EDGE Dance Company, Bowie Live and Ffin Dance, as well as for Marvel Studios, Pinot! The Musical, Cascade Dance Theatre, the London 2012 Olympics, BBC Proms, The Old Vic Tunnels and more. As the co-director of Traceworks Dance, Julian has also performed, choreographed and produced his own professional projects, and in 2019, he completed his master's degree, specialising in the role of rehearsal director. As a tutor, Julian regularly works in recreational and pre-vocational settings at The Place, Trinity Laban and DanceEast.
