Theatre Ticketing Policy
Access and Concessions
Everyone entering our theatre spaces must have a valid ticket regardless of age.
Concessions are available to full-time students, those aged under 16, senior citizens, the unwaged, members of Equity and BECTU. All concessions are subject to availability and must be declared at the time of booking. We will ask you to show proof of your concession at point of sale or when you collect your tickets at the Box Office. There will also be occasional performances with no reduced rates.
The Place theatre aims to be accessible to everyone and we offer reduced ticket prices to people with registered disabilities and their companions. We offer an increasing range of ways to access our performances such as BSL interpretation, Captioning, Audio Description and Touch tours. We also offer Parent and Baby/relaxed performances. For relevant performances we offer free babes in arms tickets.
Our theatre and studio spaces have wheelchair seating and we have loop systems in our theatre and at our Box Office and bar.
We welcome accredited assistance animals in our theatre or, with notice, we can look after your animal whilst you enjoy the performance.
We are always looking to increase our knowledge and what we can provide so please let us know if there is anything that can improve your experience with us.
Group Bookings and Reservations
The Place encourages groups to make use of our reduced rates, where available, for bookings of over 10 people. We also offer a further reduction for education groups. Reservations can be made for group bookings and we will hold reservations before payment until 2 weeks before a performance.
We do not reserve tickets for a booking of less than 10 tickets.
For all group bookings information please call the box office or email groups@theplace.org.uk
Refunds and Returns
We cannot offer refunds on tickets unless a performance is cancelled or postponed. In the event of a cancellation or postponement our box office will contact our audience members as soon as possible. Please ensure that your contact details are correct at the point of booking.
If you cannot attend a performance please contact our box office. We will offer a credit note to a future performance if we are given 5 days’ notice. If you notify us closer to the performance we will try our best to re-sell your tickets if we are sold out and credit for another performance will be given. Some administration charges may apply.
Physical tickets must be returned to the box office before we can process credit or re-sale.
Some performances will have a strict no latecomer policy or specific entry point for latecomers. We cannot refund or exchange your tickets if you are not in your seat at the start of the performance.
Covid-19 Measures
We take the well-being of our staff and audiences seriously. If we update our measures in line with government guidelines, for example the provision for distanced seating in our auditorium, and it affects your booking, we will be in contact with you.
For any questions regarding your booking or our safety measures don't hesitate to contact our box office team. If you have Covid-19 and cannot attend a live event, please let our Box Office know at least 1 hour before the event is due to start by emailing box office. You will be offered credit on your account to use for a future event.
