FERNANDA PRATA
Choreographer, Director, Teacher, Performer
Fernanda is an interdisciplinary Brazilian artist based in the UK and has been creating works that transition between dance and theatre, collaborating with different artists who are interested in the body as the main medium for expression. Her main collaboration has been with Punchdrunk where for over 15 years, she have worked as a performer and later as assistant director and choreographer associate for the company. Other collaborations include Protein, Jasmin Vardimon, Vincent Dance Theatre, Riptide Company and Theatre Rites also working alongside directors such as Tom Morris, Lucy Bailey, and Josh Seymour.
As a teacher and pedagogue, Fernanda is interested in forming artists through an integrative approach where both disciplines theatre and dance can be utilised as a way to enhance their training. She has worked in main Dance Conservatoires and Universities in the UK and currently, she is the Curriculum lead for the MA Interdisciplinary Dance Performance at Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
