Fernanda González

Fernanda is an independent choreographer, facilitator, and dance artist based in Chile. She creates dance performances in public spaces and teaches choreography and dance pedagogy at universities. With a background in researching collective practices in contemporary dance, Fernanda has explored the field from a disciplinary perspective and is now focused on developing collaborative actions within broader communities.
As part of her work, she co-creates dance archives with the Chilean dance community through Por la Danza Foundation. Fernanda is also a member of AnilinA Colectivo, an independent dance group dedicated on researching dance in public spaces. She is a recipient of the Global South Scholarship.
In her practice, Fernanda works with students in Chile’s professional dance programs. For her MA, she plans to focus on practices for women’s communities and explore inclusive approaches to formal education through dance.
Being two weeks embedded and embodied in the residency in London, made me connect with the different possibilities, layers, practices that I bring and also share with an incredible group of passionate dancers, facilitators, choreographers that opens my perspective of feeling and being part of a community
