Parents and carers looking to entertain their little ones during the upcoming Spring holidays are welcome at The Place, London’s hub for contemporary dance, for a day filled with performances, workshops and crafts.

Performed on our big stage, The Bull and the Moon is an endearing, family friendly production that celebrates anyone who dances to their own tune. Taking inspiration from the popular children’s book Ferdinand the Bull, who just wants to smell the flowers and not fight in the arena, DeNada Dance Theatre, an independent LGBTQ+ dance company committed to the promotion of gender diversity, turn the story into a fun, fiery, magical dance performance that blends contemporary dance, flamenco and theatre.

Lolo is a little bull that doesn't feel like he fits in with the other bulls in the farm. He doesn't like playing rough or the big loud bull fights. Instead, he loves dancing with Moon every night, and dreams of becoming Lola: a famous flamenco dancing cow!

Directed by choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra, this is a heart-warming story about being oneself, offering visibility and representation to the LGBTQ+ community.

For children aged 0-7, Choogh Choogh by Beeja Dance promises a joyful, immersive, and interactive train journey adventure through India! Set in a world full of song, music, colour and imagination, young audiences can experience the sights and sounds of the journey through South Asian dance, music and theatre.

Along the way they’ll meet some amazing characters - hawkers, food vendors, and musicians – and experience a magical world as scarves become steam, railway tracks, and windows. See elephants and camels, jungles and cities as the train ‘chooghs chooghs’ on.

As a wraparound activity, Beeja Dance also invite families to take part in a dance activity that explores a journey through rhythm and imagination for young and not so young to enjoy together. Be ready to stamp your feet and clap your hands, spin and jump, shout and laugh!'

Families looking to make a full day of it can get 20% off when booking for both shows.
