About There and Here

Winner of The Stage Awards Community Project of the Year 2022

There and Here brings together an ensemble of people from across the world.

During a three-week project at The Place, participants come together to sing, dance, express their creativity and share their individual stories and collective resilience.

There and Here is a performance dedicated to people worldwide forcibly displaced because of persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations, or disasters of climate change.

This project is part of Protein’s inclusion programme, Real Life Real Dance, where Protein work with children and young people in alternative provision schools and hospitals, as well as with elders in care homes and refugees and migrants. This work seeks to engage and empower using our performance-led collaborative approach inspired by the participants’ lives and experiences.

There and Here is funded by Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation, The Rayne Foundation, Foyle Foundation.

This project is supported by The Place, Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants, Migrant Help UK, Royal Borough of Greenwich and the Greenwich Borough of Sanctuary
