Encuentros

Encuentros recreates on stage the essence of the London Juergas (Flamenco jams, artistic gatherings).

In this piece, musicians and dancers from multiple backgrounds exchange their stories in the common ground that Flamenco offers.

An invitation to witness how art brings people together.

About Fin de Fiesta

Ad-lib

An intimate improvised solo work from street dance artist Lauren Scott, presented in the round. Drawing from popping and hip hop techniques, the piece showcases the raw artistry of freestyle, using isolation and illusionary movement to create a compelling dialogue with a ranging sensory soundscape, from jazz to electronic music

Like a live instrumentalist, Lauren interprets and relates to the immediate sensations within the space, offering a visceral, shared experience. By surrounding the artist in this stripped-back performance, you'll feel the intensity of freestyle and the raw qualities of movement unfold in real-time, blending the liveness of street dance with the intimacy of theatre.

ABOUT LAUREN SCOTT

Lauren Scott is a movement artist specialising in street dance, with a practice rooted in popping and hip hop, and complemented by contemporary influences. Her artistic approach is informed by her training at drama school and London Contemporary Dance School. This dual foundation allows her to fluidly navigate between naturalism and surrealism in performance. She integrates street dance elements (popping, animation, hip hop) with theatrical techniques, composition, form and structure.

As a member of The Architects Crew and IndaFam (IndaHouse UK) and an active member of the UK street dance scene, Lauren Scott engages in battle culture and theatre, continuously exploring how street dance can evolve and expand within contemporary theatrical spaces.

COPTERS AND HEARSES

Thelovechild between choreographer JJ James and fashion designer Joca Veiga.

Following the futile journey to the fully optimised human through a landscape of over-consumption, modern day health culture and “self-care”, this work zooms into the monotony of the capitalist machine and the guises of fulfilment that fuel it.

Six performers cycle through doomed rituals of modern-day culture, consistently failing to transform into their spotless selves. What is left once the obsession is over, once the caricature is fully replicated? What do we have left that we cannot commodify?
