About Andrei Nistor, Samara Langham and Seirian Griffiths

DE-DEOCHI

DE-DEOCHI is an immersive solo dance theatre piece that delves into Balkan rituals used to heal, boost livestock fertility, and even summon rain. Rooted in the concept of the "evil eye," the work explores this ancient belief, which spans cultures and centuries with deep personal and social implications. The movement and storytelling, uncovers the ritualistic disenchantments that protect against this malevolent force, offering insight into its enduring power across the world.

About Andrei Nistor

Andrei is a Romanian-born dancer and choreographer who trained at the London Contemporary Dance School and MAPDANCE 21/22. Beginning his dance journey in 2005 as a Ballroom & Latin dancer, Andrei has since expanded their practice, blending Ballroom & Latin techniques with contemporary dance. He also draws inspiration from Romania’s rich culture, history, and folklore to shape their unique artistic voice.

In 2022, Andrei wrote and choreographed SEED, a short dance film created in collaboration with award-winning videographer Corina Andrian. The film delves into the hidden world of gay elites during communist Romania, portraying the emotional toll of growing up in hostile social circles. SEED had its premiere at the Art200 International Queer Culture Festival in Bucharest.

Throughout his career, Andrei has collaborated with a wide array of artists and companies, including Edifice Dance Theatre, Holly Blakey, Richard Alston, Flute Theatre, James Cousins, Sarah Golding, Keira Martin, Leila McMillan, Simone Mousset, Leah Marojevic, and Robert Clarke.

In 2023, Andrei completed a 5-week intensive in Flying Low and Passing Through with David Zambrano in Brussels, Belgium. They are currently working with Ricardo Ambrosio, Atash Dance Company and Second Hand Dance.

SKYE ZONE Burial

Bodies calibrating, mouths filled with soot. Moss and moisture seep in under soft feet. Shrieks glisten in the dampening air as we dance from earth to sky.

Samara Langham
presents the next evolution of previous works Haku and as if almost erasing. Drawing influence on the Japanese art forms of Nōh and Butoh, she explores fragility, decay and imagination. In collaboration with Jasper Maurice and Edward Saunders, sound, lighting and movement converge for a bold, sensorial world.

About Samara Langham

Samara Langham is a London-based choreographer and dance artist. Previously she trained at London Contemporary Dance School and has worked with Botis Seva, Sharon Eyal, Holly Blakey, Magnus Westwell, and Sung-Im Her. Dead End Resurrection

The body lies motionless, an empty shell of what was, an outline.

This isn't the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last. Two souls, cursed to dance a vicious cycle of love and death, struggle to reconcile their want for companionship, with an insatiable need to have the last word.

About Seirian Griffiths

Seirian is a movement artist, musician, teacher, and choreographer based in London. JJ, Sophie, and Seirian met during their time at Rambert School, working on ideas together during training. Since graduating, the three of them have worked separately on an array of freelance and company projects, with Seirian presenting a collaborative work created with Aurora Casatori at Resolution last year. Inspired by film, art across different media, as well as his experience working with companies such as Punchdrunk and Balletboyz, Seirian's work hopes to bring the audience into a partially abstracted cinematic realm, where the lines between the internal and external worlds begin to blur.
