Blank Dress

Blank Dress is a new solo dance work by Amy Mauvan. A woman tries to put on a wedding dress and is weighed down by all the implications of what it means, childhood dreams, getting older and whether it fits, and even what is it to be a woman? Wouldn’t it be more fun to be a jellyfish? A play between imagination and day to day, this contemporary dance piece converses with a live score and teases with elements of performance art to take us through the exploration of what this dress can be.

TEKOHA

TEKOHA investigates the intersection of body and territory, examining how movement interacts with the land in a contemporary context. The work raises questions about how ancestral connections to place shape identity and are inscribed in the body, while also confronting the dissonance of modern displacement and fragmentation.

With the raw sound of the berimbau and powerful physical performance, the piece delves into the tension between memory, language, and the body. In this space, the body becomes a vessel of stories, navigating the shifting ground of belonging, migration, and the ongoing dialogue between history and the present.
