Dancing all over The Place | An online series for primary schools
Dancing all over The Place is an on-demand dance series for children in primary schools who like to move, explore and challenge their imaginations.
At The Place, we know how important it is for children to be able to take part in physical and creative activities. Given the disruption of the last year, it is going to be more important than ever that children have the opportunity to be creative in a fun environment.
There are six episodes in the series, that are around 20 minutes in length and guided by professional dance artists from The Place. In each episode children will discover different dance adventures as they travel to new places on planet Earth, finding creative ways to move and respond to the world around them.
These resources have been made with the needs of teachers and schools in mind. As well as getting children moving, the series will help to develop staff confidence and competence in teaching dance regardless of previous experience. Our fun and friendly lessons will guide viewers through different dance activities, showing teachers how a variety of themes can be interpreted into dynamics, movements and sequences. Children and teachers can dance along, or press pause at any time to extend the dance tasks into longer activities. The accompanying resource pack contains additional creative activities to support children’s journeys and help them prepare for their next adventure. Each episode also has a playlist of music suggestions so that teachers can develop activities beyond the film with thematic accompaniment.
This is a fantastic way to spend PE Premium budget to ensure all children across the school have access to engaging, fresh and high-quality dance provision. A school licence is just £150 + VAT and gives the entire school access to all six episodes until 31 Jul 2023.
