Luca Silvestrini and Protein Dance have a long-standing relationship with The Place, that includes teaching, choreographing and performing at The Place for over 25 years.

There & Here is a bi-annual partnership project that began in 2022 and is a heartfelt project that brings together a diverse ensemble of individuals from across the globe, including Iran, Colombia, Afghanistan, Congo, Peru, Cameroon and Ukraine, during a three-week residency at The Place.

United through song, dance, and shared stories, the participants celebrate creativity, resilience, and the power of collective expression, There and Here is a performance dedicated to people worldwide forcibly displaced because of persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations, or disasters of climate change.

Winner of The Stage Awards 2023 for Community Project of the Year, There and Here is part of Protein’s inclusion programme, Real Life Real Dance.
