Jack Algar

Jack Algar is a dancer based in London. They are a multidisciplinary artist who work in dance, performance art and visual art. They studied performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland then went on to train at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) where they obtained a BA and their MA from MADP. Their movement is heavily influenced by release and improvisation based around introspective Imagination and escapism, as well as a love for athleticism. They're now looking to continue the momentum of development as a dancer and movement artist and strengthen their place in the dance community of London
Jack is a graduate of the MA Dance: Performance programme at LCDS, where they were a member of Cohort 02. During the programme they worked with project leaders such as Dickson Mbi Company, Alexander Whitley Dance Company, Theo Clinkard, Steve Kirkham, Holly Blakey, Hannes Langolf, Seke Chimutengwende, Benjamin Jonsson, Rakesh Sukesh and Alleyne Dance under the course leadership of Tom English, Tina Afiyan Breiova and Dr Andrew Sanger, working closely with individual mentor Leah Marojevic.
