Job Description
Body Weather (BW) is a comprehensive approach to training + performance that investigates the intersections of bodies + their environments. Bodies are conceived not as fixed + separate entities but as constantly changing - just like the weather. Weather is seen as a complex system of forces + influences coursing through/beyond bodies + the world.
BW was founded in the 1980s by Min Tanaka + further developed by Laboratories worldwide. Frank van de Ven was a member of Tanaka’s Maijuku Performance Company in Japan (1983-91).
This workshop explores symbiotic relations between language + movement from a BW perspective.
BW is relevant for those interested in the body + physical presence. Artists + students working in performance, dance, landscape art, sculpture, architecture, theatre + visual arts welcome.
