Job Description

A shiny silver being extends their hands out towards us, placing their hands on an invisible pane of glass that separates the world inside the shipping container, lit up in contrasting shades of red and blue, and our world. They are wearing a protective helmet with a mirrored visor. Their head is cocked inquisitively to one side as they gaze towards us.

The Rural Touring Dance Initiative (RTDI) is a national project which supports dance artists and rural promoters to make great dance performance events happen in rural spaces.

Now in its seventh year, the project has recently been awarded significant grants by Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to develop the project to support local leadership, deepen audience engagement and promote sustainability and artist care and wellbeing.

We are looking for someone passionate about taking contemporary dance to new audiences to take on the new role of Rural Touring Dance Initiative Producer. This postholder will produce and manage the RTDI Project, which includes managing the annual open callout to dance companies and artists interested in rural touring. They will also promote the project within the dance and rural touring sectors, speaking at industry events, championing the work of the project.

This is a part-time, open-ended, permanent position.

The equivalent working hours for this position are 32 hours per week.
