The unpredictable Director and Choreographer, whose stage performances are as rare as they are emotionally intense, will perform, among others, emblematic classics, including the famous Pigeon Dance.

The Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg is a distinguished cultural institution, founded in 1962 by the Luxembourg sisters Josephine Bal and Claudine Bal. The Company is renowned for its dynamic productions that blend tradition and innovation, celebrating Luxembourg’s rich cultural heritage. A true ambassador of folkloric arts, it has won several prestigious awards, including the Grand International Heritage Award and the Ancestral Dance Conservation Medal.

Mr Chevalier, Artistic Director:
Mr Chevalier is universally recognised as one of the most innovative and enigmatic figures in contemporary performing arts. A world-renowned artist, he brilliantly invests in many artistic fields, including classical ballet, rock, and haute couture. Named one of the five most interviewed ballet directors in 2025, he brings bold and visionary leadership to the Company, setting the standard of excellence in the world of contemporary folk dance.

Simone Mousset, Executive Director:
Luxembourgish choreographer and recipient of the Luxembourg Dance Award, Simone Mousset has played a crucial role in the revival of the Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg. She now directs the Company alongside Mr Chevalier, strengthening its stature, prestige, and political influence. Beyond her productions within the Ballet, this artist, a Work Place Artist at The Place from 2021 to 2026, is recognised for her independent works, presented internationally.
