A creation project with MA Dance: Performance
Performed in a stripped-back auditorium The Ball unfolds in bare space – intimate, immediate. Music threads through the air as dancers move like timeless creatures, inhabiting a place that seems to float outside past and future.
This piece looks at joy as a collective practice. It explores celebration as a public, performative act with social and political stakes, reframing cheer and care as timeless acts of solidarity. From Bridgerton, Harlem, New York, a school disco, a grandad's 90th birthday, the work draws on shared sites of celebration across time and place.
