About BA Summer School

The London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) Summer School is a chance to experience life at LCDS, the undergraduate course, take classes and get to know our current students and faculty.

Our Summer School takes place in The Place building in central London. There are practical classes all led by our world-leading facilitators, insights into course modules, time to chat with students, Q&As with course leaders, information about our application process and Visa & IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) guidance.

The 2026 BA Summer School will take place from Mon 20 Jul - Fri 26 Jul.

Bookings will open mid-Feb along with further details.

Who is it for?

The LCDS Summer School is aimed at people aged 16 years + and for those who are thinking of applying to the undergraduate course at London Contemporary Dance School, however it is not necessary for you to be a prospective student to apply. Anyone aged 16+ is welcome to apply.

What the weeks look like

Here's the timetable from the 2025 Summer School. Please note, the 2026 Summer School will be 1 week long from Mon 20 Jul - Fri 24 Jul. This timetable should give you an idea of what a week will look like.

Your weekend will be free for you to explore London - our faculty and students will have plenty of suggestions for you to find interesting things to do, engage in the wider arts scene, eat great food, and more.

How to apply

There is no application process or eligibility criteria for Summer School.

However, you will be divided into different groups ranging from Elementary to Advanced based on your skill level. To assess your skill level, we will ask you to submit a short video (2 mins max) demonstrating your capacity in 1-3 movement styles.

You will be asked to share this video as a Google Drive/Dropbox/YouTube/Vimeo link when you go through the booking process.

Simply click on 'Book now' and follow the steps to book your place. Early bookings are advised as there are limited spaces available on the course.

Accommodation

For anyone aged 18 or over seeking accommodation during our Summer School, we have partnered with Londonist—a trusted provider offering safe, modern, and centrally located housing to suit various budgets.

If you prefer hotel options, we recommend the Four Points by Marriott in Euston or one of the Premier Inn hotels in the Kings Cross area. For a smaller budget, the YHA London Central offers affordable hostel-style accommodation, while Airbnb is also a popular choice for flexible short-term stays in London.
